Birds around the gully

A Tui was seen today in the gully at the back of Hukanui School. A Grey Wabler was heard a few days ago in a heavily treed property very near the gully. If we can get the rat numbers down it would be great to get the numbers up with successful chick rearing.

Thanks for your feedback Gerard. I think we have to move our restoration focus beyond planting of trees to pest control to create pest free sanctuaries in the city so that our native birds can safely breed. I would like to see the return of the Tomtit, Stitch Bird, as well as the Bell birds and Kereru. Or am I being over ambitious?
